The lady at Albertsons is so nice. She said the only reason I hadn't gotten a callback is because they're at their fill of minors, and she'd check with her supervisor and give me a first shot at a job if he says it's ok. The kicker seemed to be that I told her I would be available to work once school started...on the weekends and some evenings; and that for now, my current schedule was in the shift and I would most likely be able to work morning through evening, whenever I was needed, because AAA's just...gone now. :x
And so I might have a job. *prays* I swear that more or less made my day. If I'm lucky enough to work there and she gives me an evening shift, I might still be able to make some of the morning practices for AAA, if I can get a ride somehow...but...nyeh. It's really just looking like I have to give that up...which makes me very sad, as I can see myself getting better and better every day and I haven't seen such improvement since my sophomore year. But we need the money, I need the savings for college, and I talked to Steve before I left practice the last time I was there and told him that if I didn't show, it wasn't for any lack of trying, I just couldn't get there -- and he said he understood totally, which eases my guilt factor a bit. (He has a particular loathing for Sam, another one of my teammates who did AAA for awhile before she simply stopped showing up, without notice)
Now it's off to apply at...McDonald's. *gckk*
Honestly, that place makes me sick. :\ But they're hiring. Blatantly. If I can't work at Albertson's (the entire store just has a good vibe to it :3), I guess I'll work there, but I can anticipate not enjoying it AT ALL.

On second thought, DiCaprio shouldn't do Shakespeare. He gets better as the movie goes on, but he totally butchers some of the most memorable scenes in the movie. I have never heard "O trespass sweetly urged, give me my sin again!" recited so blankly. It's even worse because Claire Danes does a job of playing Juliet that is no less than fantastic.
And I adore the Nurse. XD She reminds me of Jon's mommy with a thicker accent. :D

Two or three of the songs I loved best from Kimi ga Nozomu Eien (The one where Haruka, at the end of the anime, tells Narumi the story contained in the book of their meeting; the one playing when, at the end, Narumi and Mitsuki meet atop the hill; the one playing DURING the flashback of how Haruka and Narumi meet; the one playing where, near the end of the anime, Narumi goes searching for Mitsuki; et cetera) were the ones I could never find even after sifting through like 10 different albums. Found an album I didn't have, got the songs, all is well.
Shrek 2 = YAY. So funny.
I will update later when I can actually think coherently. Started AAA last night and it whipped my ass. I'm dead this morning.

Les Miserables [The 1994 Japanese "Blue" Cast] - 47 - Finale |

Oh my god.
I just finished downloading the Les Mis soundtrack in Japanese -- the "Blue" cast.
Jean Valjean's voice is PERFECT. And Eponine's voice...holy god can that woman belt. I was like EEEEE. <3
Anyone who wants it is welcome to 47 tracks of Les Mis-y goodness. *drools*
Highlights of the soundtrack:
-At The End of the Day came out surprisingly well.
-Fantine's Death is always a favorite with me, and it's the same here.
-Master of the House was well done!
-Castle on a Cloud was more interesting than anything. The kid who did little-Cosette had a terrific voice as compared to English!Cosette's, whose was meek.
-On my Own has to be my absolute favorite. Like I mentioned before, Eponine just belts it out and makes it one gorgeous piece.
-A Little Fall of Rain!
-The Finale...oh my god. Just oh my god.
Yay.
Really, I'm going to make an actual companion post to that monster post soon. Mhm. ^^;;;

Before I go about continuing yesterday's monster post, allow me just one moment of squealing fangirlism.
SMART-Y! SMART-Y! XD~
Mwahaha...oh my holy god. I got home from the car wash in time to watch the Preakness Stakes on TV...this horse is amazing. Looked sleepy of all things before the race; sat quietly in the gate while Rock Hard Ten pulled some stunts and had to be forced into the starting gate by five or six men, a good chunk of the 10 or 12 assistant starters; broke sharply, had plenty of breathing room in the gate, and if anything, looked like he was holding back...but my goodness. That stretch drive...was probably one of the most beautiful things I've seen in a long long time. That kid just took off and never looked back, and I can't the way he had his ears pricked at the end -- he wasn't even working hard!
He won by 11 and 1/2 lengths...a record for the Preakness Stakes. About 2 seconds off the record time, but the winning distance was astounding. I was a little worried about Rock Hard Ten crashing the Smarty Party, but shame on me for my doubts. RHT finished a game but remote second...Imperialism was never a factor despite Kent Desormeaux touting his half-blind grey for the two weeks after the Derby. I was sad to see that Lion Heart didn't even make the trifecta...that horse really is a sleek, wonderfully fast, tenacious fighter.
Smarty Jones is just on another level.
Which brings me to a very amusing thing I found...

*points to the music tag* Today's favorite song. Particularly hard to find, so let me know if you want a copy. If you like KOTOKO/"I've" at all, I recommend it. (For those unfamiliar with the name, you may have heard her work in Onegai Teacher/Onegai Twins' opening and ending themes, for example.)
I'm feeling much better emotionally...PMS just throws me off, ew. That and the whole burnout factor. Oddly enough I could actually get out of bed this morning without too much trouble...which helped. A lot. But practice was all freestyle yesterday and today, which is just like shooting myself in the foot...lots of freestyle is what makes my shoulder go BLARGH.
But I did get my shoulder brace last night. Which was good. It fits, and it helps.
Meh, that's about it...for tonight anyway. I have an AP review with Mr. Reid and co. tomorrow from 10-12...yay. =.=
Haha, today at the beginning of class he was talking to us and he says that this other teacher told him that us kids don't think he's doing his job well enough. SOMEONE told him at least. XD I think I might stay after a few minutes and see if he knows why. Some of the things that bother us aren't really things he can change at this point -- it's like...momentum, I guess -- but some of these things he's doing are just stupid.
More...some other time!

I am just....tired. Inside and out. Ooh, and the lady-cycle came early, thank god. Not that anyone really wants to know, it's just a relief because I didn't want to deal with that in two weeks at prelims and finals.
I keep letting Gorman down -- I'm not dropping time. This is depressing, but this is also his fault -- he's the one that designs the workouts, after all.
4 x 50 medley, fly: 33ish
50 free: 29ish
100 free: 1:07/1:08 (the clockers told me the first time, Gorman told me the second)
4 x 50 free: 30ish
Slow. But I'm also on burnout, AND it was the day before the ickies started...I have a valid excuse. That and my shoulder was half killing me. Only half. So yesh. Even still, he continually isn't happy with me...I'll be surprised if I land up on Varsity for finals at all. I just have this hunch he'll give me to JV. Which makes me mad, but whatever.
He'd just better count me as one of the Varsity swimmers for banquet. He did that to Jon last year -- swam him several Varsity and only a few JV meets, and counted him on JV for the end of the year banquet. Granted, Jon got the Swimmer of the Year award for JV, but Jon was pissed. Varsity recognition is something important...for god's sake, if they don't count us as Varsity at year's end we don't get our Varsity letter to put on the letterman jacket. And that's just like...a smack in the face if you've worked all year on Varsity.
As for everything else, depression is...blech. It's not bad, it's not severe, but it's there. Right now, I just want to go back to sleep...so bad...so fucking bad...just thinking about the day ahead of me hurts. Test in science, two in math, a good 5000 yard practice...
And god help me I don't have anything to smile about.
